Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. is an Italian automaker based in the small township of Sant'Agata Bolognese, usually referred to as Lamborghini. The company was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini which entered the automobile manufacturing business with the aim of producing a high-quality grand tourer. With the release of the mid-engined Miura sports coupe, Lamborghini met with success in 1966 and in 1968 with the Espada GT.

In 1963, beginning with the very first Lamborghini prototype, the 350GTV, Lamborghini has envisioned and presented a variety of concept cars throughout its history. Other famous models were Marzal, Bravo, Athon, Chrysler's Portofino, the Italdesign-styled Cala and the Zagato-built Raptor. In 2006, a retro-styled Lamborghini Miura concept car was presented. Lamborghini revealed the Estoque, a four-door sedan concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Assembly of Lamborghini cars continues to take place at the automaker's ancestral home in Sant'Agata Bolognese.
