Jaguar is a British luxury car manufacturer founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1992 with headquartered in Coventry, England, originally making motorcycle sidecars before switching to passenger cars. Jaguar cars are designed and manufactured in one of three English Jaguar plants.The Standard Swallow was a rather larger saloon than the previous models, selling for £245.

Jaguar was listed on the London Stock Exchange and became a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index and ended in 1989 when Ford acquired Jaguar. Particularly in the Le Mans 24 Hours, the company has had major success in sports car racing and also holds Royal Warrants from HM Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Charles. Ford decided that Jaguar would be the corporation's Formula One entry in the 1999, bought out the Stewart Grand Prix team and re-branded it as Jaguar Racing for the 2000 season. Jaguar has not had an official presence in motor sport since 2004. Since March 2008, the Indian company Tata Motors Ltd. wholly-owned subsidiary and is operated as part of the Jaguar Land Rover business.
