Hyundai Motor Company is the world’s fourth largest automaker, established at 1946 as a division of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group. Hyundai means "modernity" in Korean and the logo with a slanted, stylized 'H' is a symbol of two people shaking hands (the company and customer). The company entered into a contract with Ford motor company in 1968. Ford Cortina and Granada was assemble for the South Korean market and continued to produce them until 1976. Hyundai's best-selling model in the U.S.is the Hyundai Elantra which receives a major exterior styling change with a new hood, new grille, new front and rear bumpers in 2004. Hyundai now operates eight research centers in Korea along with four international centers, including Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. Hyundai continues to reinforce its commitment to sell innovative, high-quality vehicles after nearly 18 years in the U.S. automobile market at the most affordable prices.
